McHale Commits to St. Anselm Saints

The Rochester Monarchs are excited to announce that goaltender Mike McHale has committed to the St. Anselm Saints for the 2017-18 season.  McHale, joined the Monarchs half way through the season and was a big piece of the Monarchs’ successful inaugural season.  McHale played in 17 games posting a 1.92 GAA and .924 save percentage.

“I am extremely excited for Mike and his commitment.  Mike came to us half way through the season, and was a big pick up for us.  His preparation for games and practices is like no other, and this carried over to a lot of his teammates.  The Hawks are getting a great goalie and an even better kid off the ice” said GM/Head Coach Dave Leaderer.

“I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to continue both my athletic and academic careers at Saint Anselm College.  It is an exciting time for the Hawks program and community as a whole with Coach Tortorella being named Head Coach, and I am honored to be a part of the new culture.  With that being said, I cannot thank Coach Leaderer, Bailey, and Putnam enough for everything they have done to help me develop both as a player and a person on and off the ice.  I have been fortunate enough to call Rochester and the USPHL home for the better part of the past two seasons and my time there has played a pivotal role in my path to College hockey” added Mike McHale.

The Saint Anselm Saints are members of the NEHC and coached by Jim Tortorella.  McHale is now the 4th Division 3 commitment for the Monarchs in their inaugural season.
